It has been a while since I started writing The Vertical Sidewalk.
The name was conceived as a word play to give the sense that the storefronts and otherwise active ground floors are actually part of the sidewalk and the public realm.
It was a way of linking my interest in storefronts and the vitality of cities and towns.
Some posts have been more popular than others. Mostly, the personal ones have won hearts, and the Bitcoin-related ones have won unsubscribes and one or two comical and poorly written hate e-mails.
You will notice that my posts from now on will focus mostly on economic development, revitalization, small businesses, historic preservation and how to support the organizations that nurture them.
Relieving as that may be, it is part of the big announcement I make today: I am launching a paid subscription area of The Vertical Sidewalk. You can subscribe right here:
My current focus is on the development of technological tools that can help small towns and struggling local economies become wealthy and prosperous again.
I believe that the answer lies in learning about the potential of Bitcoin, the Blockchain and other applications.
It’s a fascinating topic. However, still in its infancy and in need of much thought, reflection and collaboration. It’s important to have as many voices that focus on this, although I must concede that it is not an easy topic and it is not for everyone.
I would love to tell you of a bunch of things that you would be supporting and a bunch of perks that you would get if you subscribe. The early stage we are in only allows me to make one promise: Your support will encourage me to talk to bright minds in crypto, Bitcoin and Blockchain, developers and creators who are harnessing the power of this emerging tech and making the world a better place.
I will present my findings, hook you up with the conclusions I arrive to and, it is my goal, walk with me as I endeavor to deliver solutions to struggling towns that make good use of these technologies and their potential.
If you are interested, let’s make this a conversation that lives to its potential of saving our small towns. Hit the orange button and let’s begin.
You will keep receiving updates on the free accounts, and all the content I write about cities, small businesses and economic development will keep coming to your inbox.
Before I go, one last thing, I’d be very grateful if you would share this post and The Vertical Sidewalk with your contacts, so please click on the <Share> button below.
Thank you in advance for your support.
